This Privacy Policy explains how Aqsa LogicByte (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Solar AI Finance website and mobile application (together, the “Service”). The Service helps households and businesses in Pakistan analyse their electricity bills, size a solar system, and estimate cost and payback.

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account details — your name, email address, and a password (stored only in hashed form). We send a verification email and account-related messages to this address.
• Electricity and property details — information you enter to get an estimate, such as your distribution company (DISCO), monthly units and bill amounts, tariff, location or city, roof or site details, appliances, and load-shedding or backup requirements.
• Assistant messages — the questions and messages you send to the in-app AI assistant.
• Profile photo — if you upload an avatar image, it is stored with our image hosting provider (Cloudinary).

Information collected automatically

• Authentication data — secure session tokens stored on your device (in secure storage on mobile) to keep you signed in.
• Technical data — basic request information such as IP address, device or browser type, and timestamps, used for security, debugging, and preventing abuse. Our hosting and database providers process this on our behalf.
• Language preference — stored in a cookie (website) or on your device (app) so the Service displays in English or Urdu as you choose.

We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
• To generate solar system recommendations, financial estimates, and reports for you.
• To look up your current electricity bill from your DISCO when you enter a consumer/reference number.
• To operate the AI assistant and answer your questions.
• To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset, important notices).
• To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-party services we use

We share the minimum data necessary with service providers who process it only on our instructions:

• Cloud hosting and database — to run the Service and store your account and estimate data.
• Cloudinary — to store a profile photo you upload.
• AI model provider (Groq) — assistant messages and relevant estimate context are sent to generate responses. This data is processed to serve your request and is not used by us to build advertising profiles.
• Email delivery — to send verification and account emails.
• Expo / Google Play — to distribute the mobile app and deliver updates.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.

4. Data retention

We keep your account and estimate data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal or security obligations.

5. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction — you can view and update most account information from within the Service.
• Deletion — you can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data from the Delete your account page, from the More screen in the mobile app, or by emailing us at the address below. We process deletion requests within 30 days and email you once complete.
• Withdraw consent — you can stop using the Service and delete the app at any time.

7. Children

The Service is intended for adults (18 years or older) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Estimates are not financial advice

Solar system sizes, costs, savings, and payback periods provided by the Service are estimates based on the information you supply and general assumptions. They are for planning purposes only and are not professional financial, engineering, or investment advice.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service.
